Steamboat Movement Festival Preview 2017

Yoga - Mountains - Music

Prepare your mind, body, and soul for the ultimate fest experience in the emerald Yampa Valley.

August 10-13, 2017‎

Steamboat Movement Fest 2017 is a transformative four-day experience of consciously connecting through movement, music, and the great outdoors. Mountains adventures, yogi lectures, bike paths, and sacred gathering, oh my!

Shakti Journal is super excited to hear and dance to the amazing sounds of We Dream Dawn — here’s an excerpt from them on their recent adventures:

‘Over three years ago we embarked upon this subsistence farming adventure. Our first season, we pressed and fermented pear cider, planted a bunch of fruit trees, started a flock of chickens and subsequently lost them all to predators a few months ago, helped take care of a bunch of cows, constructed hugelkulture beds and a large cold frame, planted everything we could think of, delved into canning, brewed a few batches of cider, beer, vinegar, sauerkraut, kombucha, saved a bunch of seeds, and lots of things I’m forgetting, all while I was still touring with Elephant Revival.  Needless to say, there wasn’t much free time, and Aera had to work overtime while I was gone often for up to three weeks at a time.  Our second season we experimented with dry cropping and the garden was not so successful, however, now we only water with rainwater (fertilized by fish) and the soil is looking better.’

Let’s dig a down-dog with some world famous and Colorado beloved yoga teachers: Allison Gordon, Chelsea Call, Cristen Malia, Eliza Cane, Jeanie Manchester, Rob Loud, Jeremy Wolf, Justin Kaliszewski, Margot Krimel, RR Shakti, Valerie D’Ambrosio, Michelle Griffith, Shannon Paige, Ty Landrum, Tryon Beverly, Bibi McGill, Amy Charity, Ashton August and so many more!!! Dance, biking, walking, yoga, and eastern arts are just some of the movement at movement fest. Be sure to catch Buddha Bomb heating up the tribal dance parties on Friday and Saturday night.

That’s not all… nourish your monkey mind with some food for thought at live panel discussions with professionals in their fields and modern day conscious-livers will examine how we raise our vibration on the daily through food, practice, awareness, and more.

Shakti founder, Shareshten Kerry, will be teaching yin yoga with Buddha Bomb zenning out the beats on Saturday evening and melting into a tribal ecstatic dance party into the night. Shakti Journal crew will be making rounds posing the question: ‘what does it mean to be a yogi?’ We hope you will participate in a fun and inspiring video we are producing for Steamboat Movement Fest. See you in the mountains.
